Beautiful 2008 Holiday USPS stamp that has been turned in to a pendant. The stamp is of a painting by Italian artist, Botticelli, entitled " Virgin and Child with the Young John the Baptist".

The stamp is now a pendant of mosaic glass measuring 1 inch by one inch and is hanging on a 16 inch black satin cord that is finished with a sterling silver clasp.

Because of the hand-made nature of these pendants, no two are alike.

On October 23, 2008, in New York, New York, the Postal Service™ issued a 42–cent, Christmas: Virgin and Child with the Young John the Baptist by Sandro Botticelli special stamp, designed by Richard Sheaff of Scottsdale, Arizona.

The 2008 Christmas stamp features a detail from a work by the Italian master Sandro Botticelli, entitled Virgin and Child with the Young John the Baptist. This painting, tempera and oil on wood, dates to around 1490 and is now in the collection of the Cleveland Museum of Art. It presents one of the most common figural groups in religious art.
